In 2016, Fusion (a Ferrovial Agroman joint venture) was awarded the central section of HS2’s enabling works contracts. Along with the international expertise from the parent companies, Amey, (a subsidiary wholly owned by Ferrovial) will be supporting Fusion with delivery of the contract.

2016 - 2019
Option F (NEC) Management Contract
The total section of the Phase One route is 225km and just under half of this route (102km) is occupied within the Area Central section which stretches from Gerrards Cross to Leamington Spa. The total value of the contract is £300m with work expected to run for a total of four years.
Fusion’s role is to deliver the essential preparatory grounds works, before the main construction programme commences. The scope of activity will range from ecology and environmental works, demolition, archaeology, utility diversions, and highway realignments.
These initial works are the first of many work packages. Preparatory activity over the coming months will be vast, with approximately 200 people from the team working across Area Central.
Additionally, the archaeological programme included within this preparatory activity is expected to be the largest ever undertaken in the history of Britain.
The team at Fusion worked closely with supply chain partners Temple, to develop a process which dramatically reduced the number of instances where permission to access land wasn’t successful. As a result of the new process, land access improved significantly which reduced programme delays and setbacks.
